Heheh. Actually for Varanasi and I suppose Dharamsala, having something warm on you won't go amiss.

As in here: http://www.indiamike.com/india/india...ty-etc-t46858/ .
My feeling however is the question has more to do with temperatures. Now what is something warm to wear? That above Climate thread (read all of it) will address some basic temps. Bear in mind that what may seem bearable to you from the comfort of your home may be far more pervasive there, as there's simply less escape from it, with you being out and about & many places just not being heated and so on. There has been confirmation here that being a higher-end traveler won't necessarily safeguard you from this. Some observations of mine on the cold traveling up to Varanasi in December (as an aside, the thread is about something else): Advice on 37 hour train ride Searching this site some more should also yield plenty on it. |

Goa would be something else. I reckon it'd be tropical. That above Climate thread again features just about every weather site etc. you might wish for. Maybe pack a light sweater and jeans for the nights, although I doubt you'd really need them. Depends on length of stay too, 24C can be chilly if you're used to it, if not, you'll still be sweating like crazy.
A guidebook should be able to advise pretty much the same, although the cold up north in winter did catch me by surprise. |
