Footwear around Darjeeling
O.K. As part of our trip to India in November my wife and I will be doing some day walks/hiking around the Darjeeling area.
I will be taking and using a pair of Hi-Tec mid-cut light hiking boots which I will also use during the rest of our trip. However my wife is slightly built and would find boots a pain to wear all the time so I guess my question is... What type of tracks/trails are around Darj and would she be o.k. using a pair of "trail runner" type running shoes as opposed to clumpy boots? are they fairly well graded or quite rough and hard-going??. Bear in mind also that we are talking about day walks with only a light day pack at most to carry. Opinions from those who have been there would be appreciated. And yes, we are also both taking sandals as well.
