Fashion in India

Hello, I leave on Friday 7th March for the USA and then to India arriving on the 17th March, I've been in a dilemma about what clothing to pack for both countries. I've read every article I could find here and googled FabIndia etc and came across this article on fashion in India that I thought I would share.
I know every newbie like me who travels to India has the same problem with deciding on clothing choice.

I'm aware that the article is only applicable for the big city's but I thought it was interesting to see how westernised India is becoming.

My friends in India had assured me that my jeans and t-shirts wouldn't stand out in Delhi,(I'm a mature woman) but to dress appropriately for the country areas.

This thread has the potential to go on and on...ladies on board simple love to talk about these things...

However seeing lack of response till now, this topic has been covered a lot of times, just browse through the forums and also search for keywords like 'clothes', 'clothing' etc...

Vyakti,

I traveled to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Nagpur in December. I mostly wore jeans and t-shirts, with another long sleeve shirt over the t-shirt. Never felt conspicuous what-so-ever. Might be a bit warmer in jeans for you in March, so perhaps some long skirts or lightweight khakis. Have Fun -- Scarlet

That's not an article: its an advertisement for Tee Shirts!

Whereas casual clothes are becoming more accepted day by day, I wouldn't take that article as giving any practical advice whatsoever. Just magazine claptrap!

You'll find much better advice on this site, as mentioned by Shashank. But do check out the most recent threads here. Things really are changing that fast!
