exchanging rupees to dollars
So at the end of a trip in India, when you have those extra rupees left over, how do you exchange them back into dollars or something similar? I've heard you need the reciept for when you made the initial exchange into rupees. For small amounts is this still necessary?

Yes, you should have ATM slips or encashment certs for the amount you want to change back.

At the departure level at the airport they have never asked me for any ATM slips but the exchange rate there is terrible.
