How much would a warm and cheap jacket cost in delhi? Something which would keep out the cold in Almora etc in February.
And at what price can i get a couple of nice sweaters without breaking my budget...Im travelling really cheap! no choice And most importantly, WHERE in delhi? Ive never been to North India, so i have no clue! ![]() |

So many markets in Delhi and sweaters for literally peanuts.
There is a surplus auction cum flea market of seconds(sligh flaws) cloths (bahut susta) at Connaught Place (outer circle near regal building? I think). I go there first day after I arrive and get gr8 deals. I bought a few punjabi made woolen sweaters at a market behind janpath and my sikh collegues laughed and said they would fall apart .... still wearing em years later!!

Cheap Cheap ...
Quote:
Seconds are perfectly good clothes that don't make manufacturers final inspection satisfaction so they are either discarded or sold discount. They are perfectly fine clothes that only the discerning eye would see. There is a wide range of coats/jackets with various shells/fillings. Being from Canada, I'm so warm there even in January that I don't need too much - somebody else from a warmer climate can probably assist with cost and appropriate jacket for your metabolism. ![]() |

For the stuff you are looking for go to Majnu ka tilla. I understand that you live in warm country where you wouldnt needthe woolens. So the cheap ones may not last long but long enough to serve you during your trip. Bargain hard though. Dont feel shy to offer half the price the seller quotes, no one will laugh at you. Frankly I do feel embarrased when my wife offers one third or so at Palika Bazar!
