cotton pants

Hello India Mike =D

How easy for me will it be to come up on a pair of drawstring cotton pants while in India like the ones in my picture:

http://essentialgearguide.com/1/wp-c...kled-pants.jpg

I will be in Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

I would imagine if I bought the cotton I could find a tailor to make them.

Thanks for your replies!

Even though it's not related - I'm going to attach this picture...well, because I like it =D

As easy as chai . . . a good tailor can make anything. It might help for you to have an idea/drawing of what and how you want things; maybe bring a picture of the pants.

Awesome! Thank you very much. It's a good idea to bring a picture in case I go to a tailor.

Well, I start my visit in Cochin...does anyone know a either a good tailor, fabric shop or place to purchase these pants that I can start with?

Extremely easy.

Taking cotton to India is akin to taking coal to Newcastle. In other words, no need. You'll pay more for the cotton in the US, and schlep it all the way to India for no reason. You can buy it there off the rack for < Rs. 250 all told, unless you are really tall (like much over 6') or wide (though there will be a drawstring so waist should still be ok).

Yes. Tailors are harder to find if you steal it.

I love those typos.

Could I just add, speaking as a Brit, I was disappointed to find that this thread was about trousers...
