As long as your hand luggage is undersized and it doesn't have any knives attached I can't see why there'd be a problem.

Are you bringing it to use in India though? The roads aren't very well suited to it, even in big cities. The only place I can think of that would be fun for the board is Jantar Mantar (http://images.google.com.au/images?q...r+mantar&hl=en) but I'm pretty sure they don't encourage it there

now not again!!!....please do not start on the dire state of indian roads....i know its not in the best state.....
Mumbai is at times better but look at Pune.....gosh!!!!! the entire city has gone completely bad...on bike i feel like i am taking the age old road paved at the time of Shivaji Maharaj...bumby bumpy khadbad khabad ..........pot holes, craters my god!!!! not to mention that suffocating dust all around on the roads.
heck these government ppl! aah!!! forget it!

last week in mumbai two brothers(the only kids to their parents) were crushed to death by a dumper. these illfated kids were trying to avoid a pothole on the way back from school on cycle

well, the place i live in Mumbai is very much for such things..nice roads..a not very busy train station where i can use the parking lot and even the platform........so no worries about the place to have fun on wheels.

and guys/gals please change this notion that India is a land devoid of good roads. soon i am going on a (very)small skating tour in a Konkan Ghat near my place then i will show how much fun one can have on indian roads with small wheels.
u better watch! i know its risky to death but if u take calculated risks anywhere u will have the thrill besides the fun. just see that u r good at calculations tho

anyways.... well actually i have asked my bro coming down from Holland to carry one but he is one of those who do not want hassles at airports so just wanted to convince him that he can carry it in the plane...i did see guys carrying Guitar in the plane which is more or less the same size and weight as a board.
so he can carry it, probably wrapped in some cover along with his handbag, with him. right?

Hey if you're up to it, why not?

I can't see why it would be a problem on the plane though - he'll have to make sure that his other carry on is very light though, the airlines have been pretty strict about the carry-on lately

Officials are so boring. Every time I go to the JM I always wish I had a skate board with me - not that I've ridden one for years!

my bad for not seeing you're from Mumbai, and obviously know places to skate.

However, you MUST contact the airline on which you are flying to find out FROM THEM what is permitted. No one knows but them.
