Budget for 6 months

I'm going to India in October for 6 months. I plan to see alot of the country. I should have £4500 - £5000 to spend. Will this be enough? I hope to get a job in the mean time so I might have an extra £1000. Cheers all.

You'll be able to stay in Maharaja's palaces with that sort of budget! (But not every night).
Enjoy your trip!

I went also six months to India in 2003, I only spent 1900 pounds. India is a very, very cheap country for travellers from the west. For the money you have??? you could probably stay 1,5 year.....or live, like said before, as the maharadjas

Yeah, like others have said, that's loads of money.

I think I spent £3000 in 6 months when I was there - but that including my flight there and back, a lot of flying around Thailand first and a couple of internal flights while I was in India.

I could've got by on £2000 easy.

If you are travelling alone, it would be more than alone. But if you have a travel companion then also it would be sufficient.
You can stay in some very luxury hotels now and then and still save a lot.
