brought my own sheets
and I was SO glad I did! I questioned myself doing it, but once I got there, it rocked. nothing nicer than getting into a clean set of sheets from home and a pillow with my own clean pillow case on it. didn't take up too much room and def made my hotel a refuge from the craziness out there.....

I took a few sarongs and some pillow slips. Most of the time I was okay and didn't need to use them except for one place, and I too was glad I brought them along.

I brought a silk sleeping bag liner which I bought in Vietnam (they are also available in the states). It is very light, covers the pillow and folds up into a little sack. Washes and dries in a flash.

Pillow Talk

My comfort level was doubled, everywhere I went because I had the best pillow in the world! Left it behind at the New Woodlands, Chennai. Hope it became someone else's treasured object rather than landfill. |

Boy im just always wishing the temperture would drop low enough where id want to get under some sheets. I usually just wake up in a pool of sweat and mucus.

I was very glad I took a sleeping bag to the north, despite several assurances from IM members that there'd be plenty of blankets. In the extreme north (at altitude), I would have been very, very uncomfortable without it. I was often cold, especially when using the fan at max speed to ward off mosquitoes, and used the sleeping bag on and off right down to Mumbai.

For the two trips to India, I've had my sleeping bag with me. It keeps me warm when it's cold (and it can be cold in the north in the winter), + it's also my sanctuary from grubby sheets and/or blankets if necessary...
