Blank Minidiscs in India
Leaving in less than a month. I'm taking a Tibetan language course, which I will be recording, using my minidisc. I figure, even with the 5-1/2 hours of time I can get with MDLP on one 80 minute disc, I will need around 150 discs. (4hours/day, 5 days/week, 9 months). I don't want to take all these discs with me. I just bought about 50, and it already takes up space and weight I need for other things.
So, is it possible to buy these things in India? Specifically in Darjeeling? Is it safe to import them thru the mail? I know that I can record over them, but I prefer to keep them to study in the future. So, I'm thinking maybe I could send the recorded ones home and order in new ones as I need them, but I am worried about the postal system in India. The NOTORIOUS postal system, I should say. (Please don't advise me to get another system. I spent more time than I care to admit researching this, and decided that this is the best for my needs. Sony MZ-B10--records, easy to use, built in mic, mic input for external mike, built in speakers, etc.)Many thanks! |

Kiki, in my years here I have received many things , the only time I didn't receive something was medicines, apparently it was also the only parcel not sent byrecorded post. I learnt medicines are always suscept to pilferage/disappearance in India.

Blank MDs are a nightmare to find in India at least they were in 2002.
I ended up getting them sent from home and stocked up in Bangkok They are aslo cheaper backhome from the prices I saw above To be on the safe side i would bring your own. I ended up selling soem to desperate travellers who also could not find blank ones. Bryan
