Hi,

Just back from a great trip and wanted to share my enthusiasm about a new brand of shoes. I wore a pair of Keen sandals (for a picture see this link http://www.zappos.com/n/br/b/427.html ) and they made the trip much more enjoyable.

They are a type of tough-duty closed toe sandals. So they are breathable, but the closed toe part comes in handy for protecting your toes from being crushed. Also, somehow they have the amazing ability to keep cow dung from getting on your skin. I am not sure if they were designed with this in mind, but it was really great. Also, they are mostly rubber and neoprene so you can wash them off every day.

Hope this helps some of you out!

Don't worry Ruprecht. They are available through a million websites. The one I listed just happened to have a good picture (and I'm too lazy to take one of my own). I'm certain that another website will be able to mail them. Also, I found the size to be faithful to what I'm accustomed to. I normally wear a size 7, which is a 4.5 UK size according to my shoe. This was the shoe I bought and it fit perfectly.

Happy truckin'.

thanks boatrat! i just ordered a pair of size 11s from a site that pretty charged the earth, moon and assorted large asteroids for shipping costs. this is pretty much the only thing i'll ever spend that much money on in my life, but they did look really good, considering what i'll need.

ASIDE from the boots worn by the pilot of spaceshipone. i saw a photo from the spherical cockpit, and the guy had the coolest shoes!

Keen Newport H2

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7128876/c/15829.html

I have the Plum/GoldenRod washables myself. I love them to death. Word of caution though - if your feet get sweaty in rubber soles then it might bother you a bit because my feet are always feeling a bit warm in them. Other than that no complaints. I am about to test them out on a 3 week asia trip. I have had them for 3 weeks so far and used it for biking ,hiking, walking with great results.

I swear by my 40 rupee flip flops from the market in Margao
They've lasted 15 months on the road without a problem and are still going strong though a lot less wear now hahaha.
The best buy in footwear I've ever made

Still wear them when the weather is hot enough up here
Magic!

Then let us pray that come it may
(As come it will for a' that),
That Sense and Worth o'er a' the earth,
Shall bear the gree an a' that.
For a' that, an a' that,
It's coming yet for a' that,
That man to man, the world, o'er
Shall brithers be for a' that.
