As usual, Cyberhippie's advice seems to be the one for an Aussie to follow. Our currency is simply not well-known in many countries, and I certainly don't want to spend hours at a bank while four people examine it and then stand around talking about what to do with it!

Jarman, at the mo you should take GBP

i checked out some exchange rates and the following is true for now.

1AUD=0.7USD=32 Rupees
1AUD=0.4GBp=33 Rupees

the euro is approximately the same as the USd in conversion.

You will not in practice benefit from such rates. The opportunity for internaitonal arbitrage (studying economics at Masters level comes in use sometimes) means such gains can only be very short term and dealing costs etc will have to be factored in.
