Bath/shower gel in India?
Hi all - I'm new here but am planning a trip to India at the moment and I have a question about what to pack that I can't find an answer to anywhere
-- am hoping you can help me. I know you can buy almost anything in the major cities that you'd need. But I have severe eczema and skin allergies, and I have to use completely non-fragranced products for bath/shower, washing clothes, etc. Is it possible in India to buy these, for example Western brands such as E45 or even Simple or an equivalent? Or would I have to bring my own stock of them? Can anyone here offer any advice about dealing with skin allergies when away in India, perhaps if they have had similar problems in the past? I've also heard that the chemicals used to wash clothes in India can be quite harsh - is is possible to buy or request non-fragranced washing powder, for example? Thanks in advance! Zaranna |

Hi ,
Welcome to IM Forum. I dont think you will find those specific soap , detergent in India. Since you have skin allergies & use specific brand it is better to bring those thing while you are here. You may find similiar brand in Metro cities ( not 100% sure though )

Bring all your own E45 stuff! There are some very good products based on herbal and Ayurvedic medicine, have a look at this link but only experience would tell what suits you.
Most domestic stuff is cheap. I don't think you will find washing powders such as you describe (but my experience is really limited to one S. Indian city so...).

Dont depend on getting these products in India. It will be best if u carry these from home. and detergents out here are absolutely fine. so dont carry those.

e45
hi
i also have shitty skin, and found that in the heat it can get pretty dry. take a nice fresh load of e45 wash (actually i use johnson's softwash, but that's just me), some antihistamine for heat rash, and e45 cream. it did the trick for me. don't worry too much about it. have a great time f |

Yes, the Himalaya site is nice; very informative. Their products are reasonably priced too: they could probably sell for 10* the price if they set up in London.
Guess what: it was an IMer that suggested I use their anti-dandruff shampoo . |

Thanks!
Thanks to all for your help - it's much appreciated! I suspected I might have to bring products with me - but it's good to know for certain!
