Baggage rules

I am travelling to Delhi from Canada using a reward ticket (frequent flyer ticket) from Air Canada. However, my ultimate destination is Chennai. I'll be booking a ticket thro' a travel agent to fly from Delhi to Chennai. Air Canada does not have any dometic tie-ups and therefore cannot do the booking for me.
My question : How is baggage rule applicable for me ?. Is it the 2 piece (international traveller) concept with 30kgs each (approximately) or should I stick to the 20 kg limit applicable for demestic flights ?.

Thanks in advance.

By all means do check with your travel agent, but my understanding is, if you buy it here as part of Can-Delhi-Chennai journey, you get the international allowance. If you buy it in India, you get the domestic allowance. Either way, the allowance would be written in the ticket itself.

On any domestic flight in India except Deccan Air you will be fine with your 30k max. Deccan will charge extra for anything over 10k. By the way 30 k is an awful lot to lug around. You can buy anything you need in India verrry cheap. Bring empty bags and go home full!!!

are you backpacking??? you really wont want to carry a bag that heavy! check out the threads on packing light. you only need a couple changes of clothes, there are pharmacies everywhere -gipsi is right! you can buy anything you need in india for a fraction of the price.
