Availablity, and cost of meds in India.

Hi there

A quick question. Would it generally be cheaper to buy medication in India (more specifically, doxycycline anti-malarial) and is the availability usually the same? It's going to cost me $100 if i buy it here.. i'd rather save if I can.

best thing when you don't know what chemcials compose your medicines, ask the chemist (or shopkeeper of medical shop), say you want med for cough or cold or whatever, they give you the ones usually prescribed by the doctors and are reliable.

Doxy also available here in Pune without prescription. Lots of drugs for that matter available over-the-counter.

the only thing to be aware of is that doxy usually needs to be started before you leave, so you may need to purchase a small amount at home to get going.
