Art Supplies and Yoga Mat

Hello Everyone:
I am wondering what kind of art supplies I can find in India? I am interested in cray pas (oil pastels), watercolors, inks, and chalk pastels. Could someone give me an idea of the costs? I am trying to decide whether or not to bring my own. Also, I know this is a silly question, but is it easy to find yoga mats? If so, how much do they cost?
Thanks for the info!
Peace

Hi BD,

I am not an artist, but I have purchased cray pas, colored pencils and watercolors (the sets children use) in major Indian cities. Also, newsprint pads and ink for fountain pens. I'm no judge of quality - sorry. I'd imagine that inquiries at local art colleges (most major cities have one, I think) would get you better informed answers than mine!

1. Art materials avlble at many specialist shops in all the big cities at reasonable rates. Don't bring anything.

2. Yoga mats is a western concept. Indians use a cotton/wool durrie [thick mat to sleep on] folded in half to do haTha yoga asanas. You will get these everywhere. If you are comfortable with a Yoga mat alone, carry one with you.
