I'm travelling to India (dehli, agra, ranthambore, kanha) in november so know its likely to be a bit chilly at night and I am planning to pack a couple of fleeces etc and longer sleeves, but a lot is mentioned about buying shawls out there to wrap up warm which sounds like a great idea but I have an awful wool allergy (hives come up within minutes of wearing the stuff) so wondered if anyone knew what sort of materials these shawls etc are made from and am I likely to find wool free ones?
I can easily tell if wool is in something from the feel, but I don't want to have to touch everything beforehand! |

Would silk do you?
You don't have to buy shawls*; whatever keeps you warm in Manchester will keep you warm in Northern India too. A shawl is an easy thing to carry in a bag, though, and easy to use for just a little extra warmth. I think it was November that I went to Delhi, last year. 13-15C at night? It was cold to my now-tropical blood, but I don't think it will be to a Mancurian. Midn you, there is the contrast with the 25C daytime temperature to cope with. *Yes, you do... They can be stunningly beautiful, and you'll want to take one home ![]() |

Heat Tech is something you should explore - http://www.uniqlo.co.uk/heattech
It is light, and works in New England weather, so definitely it would work in Indian weather too ![]()
