My guess would have been that Airwaves are some kind of "silent farts", but then no!

Paan is an idea--maybe you could learn to eat it the typical indian way--easy to do; extremely difficult to comprehend why people do it!

Buy this chicklet called Cool Air, it works the same way as you have indicated.

There is Menthos, but is is very mild.

There is CenterFresh chewing gum, but, that is mild too.

You must try the Pepper mint tablets that are sold in all small shops in India. They cost abouts 5 paise each, and they ROCK.

Hello lulabell, welcome to IM

You sure you're not related to Steven_Ber?* If not, you won't have a clue what we're talking about until you've read through lots and lots of this site. And when you come accross it, I really hope you won't be offended. I guess you'll be well used to shrugging off the essex-girl stereotype

There are lots of good people on IM, and so much knowledge about India it is unbelieveable. The mods work hard to keep it a nice place, and if stuff gets offensive they nip it in the bud. But there is an Indiamike.com, how shall I put it, sense of humour ...don't take it personally!

*OK: you're really Cyberhippie and I claim my Five Pounds!

(sorry: couldn't resist...)

For many reasons, have not written my entire profile ..... but I am quite the iconoclast in some ways and highly traditional in some...... and yes, I am a typical Piscean [ astrologer too ]

If you really want a good kick inside your sinuses, and other sundry olfactory apparatii, and the rest of your head to boot... forget all those menthol flavoured sweets above and stick to the Mother of all Menthes. Menthol Itself.

About the female libido, some say that whatever effect on man, the opposite effect on woman. I have never fed pure crystalline menthol to even one female, so I wouldn't know. My mother eats mildly menthol flavored paan now & then. [fact: I can never ask her.] My paan wallah gave me this "libido" warning some time back when he observed me taking excessive menthol crystals inside the paan. He also added that supaari [betel nut] has the same effect of lowering.

Menthol's called "thandak" in Mumbai at least. Any paan wallah [there are millions] will give it to you. Once I had a severe sinus congestion. Same paan wallah of mine did a neat trick with raw menthol. He put the menthol crystals on the paan leaf [ abt the size of a human palm ] and gently heated the other side of the leaf with a cigarette lighter.... so that the crystals melted into a small liquid pool abt 5 mm in diametre. Then, without warning, he slapped the hot menthol goo on to my forehead, face, sinus and all. I was startled for a while, but my clogged sinuses relented in a mere five minutes and my headache completely disappeared!!

No wonder it is the Mother of All Menthes!!

Lulabell You seriously go through 30 packs a month (1 every day). You do know that they are really bad for you right? The aspartame and other bits n bobs in them could bring on diabetes or other issues eaten at those quantities - plus they will start to have serious laxative effects.

There is a background to this. Some time back, the mods recd complaints from young females who kept on getting onsolicited posts. So our prime train-spotter mod decided to go a-sleuthing and registered himself as a very young, blond, nubile, maiden with the net name Charlene_DD. As to how many unsolicited come-hither posts recd by the great CharleneDD is concerned, only the great Steven_ber can answer that one. He does sound a trifle disappointed, though. Everyone of them thought that lulabell was a very "correct" name for Steven_ber.

You OP timing was within hair-breadth of CharleneDD's "controversy" on IM. So, a lot of IM'ers [ esp from London ] thought that lulabell is another CharleneDD. No need to don Sherlock's coat. I hope its answered.

Nice to know a fellow stargazer, you're the first to answer me [ as stargzr ] on IM.... as to a fellow Piscean, I personally believe that most Pisceans are half mad or fully mad... & shouldn't I be hobnobbing with sane people? But here I am, infecting others or getting infected in turn.

Lightbulb Store menthol in little containers

Most homeopathy stores sell their homeop. meds in li'l cute small tube shaped plastic containers. Buy an empty one... [ tubular, cap at top.1/3rd inch dia, length approx 2 inches ] Buy some twenty rupees worth of Menthol crystals [they should fill up this l'il thingie.] Take a small clean paper and grind the menthol into powder with a small clean stone. Now you will have got fine Menthol powder. Put it back in the container. Carry it with you.

You have an exact dosage accompanying you, if you wish to. [ expln : some crystals are really big, and cannot be eaten without throwing a small part away. If you put such a big crystal on your tongue, its likely to get burnt. This way you will have your own supply of menthol with you in the exact minute quantities. ]

Welcome to India, Enjoy the Airwaves !!!
