Wedding in Assam

Hi, i will be attending a wedding in Guwahati this year. An Indian guy i know is getting married. It is a Hindu wedding and i've been told the festivities will last for 2 days. I not sure what i will get as a present yet, but something similar as to if someone heer at home (Ireland) was getting married. Is this also the case for a Hindu wedding?? Also, will i need to dress up in traditional Assameese gear or will the trusty 2 piece suit do?? Any advice is appreciated.

Something from Anne Summers?

Maybe not, the last wedding I went to was very different to an Indian wedding, the gifts should also be different.
