Visit to Tawang

Hi, I am visiting Tawang on 28th and 29th Oct. What will be the temp? Will it be extreme cold? Is there any chance of getting snow at any place? One more query. While going we are planning to go by Helicopter. But return journey we are panning by road. Will there be any difficulty in getting the transport at Tawang?

Hi

The temp in Tawang will be quite cold especially at night, it could be around 9 - 10 deg C. We got snow at Sela Pass and also some near the Chinese Border.

Regarding availability of Transport, for the downward journey, cannot make any comment because we had a car at our disposal for the entire trip but feel that it should not be a problem.

You are most welcome

We visited Tawang along with Dirang, Bomdila and Ziro in Oct 2006. Had a lovely trip though the weather played spoil sport for couple of days especially on our wato Tawang.

Just completed our trip to North East. It was a wonderful trip. We visited Guwahati, Tawang, Kaziranga, Tezpur, Bhalukpong, Shillong and Cherapunjee. Tawang was very cold and we could get snow in Tawang. Helicopter ride was really a nice experience. In Cherapunjee, we visited Living root bridge at Umnoi. I would like to go again to North East.

great trip.how much did it cost for a person.how long did u tour.hotel and agent recommendations?how did get the inner line permit?how long did it take to get inner line permit? .sorry for posting too many questions.

How to travel to ziro from tawang?how much it cost?

Hi

I dont think there is any direct route from ZIRO to Tawang. WE came back to North Lakhimpur from ZIRO, from here we took a bus to Tezpur and from there we hired a jeep for our trip to Dirang, Tawang and Bomdilla.... WE have seen that there is however direct bus from Tezpur to Tawag but in my opinion it will be extremely strenuous. REgarding cost pls check with tour operator or a traveller who have been there in recent past.

Sorry for the late reply. Our trip was of 15 days. Cost will be approx 24000 per person. But this includes helicopter tickets for Guwahati to Tawang and back. Mumbai to Guwahati and back is additional (not included in 24000). You get inner line permit on the next day of your application. So plan accordingly. In Tawang we stayed at Hotel Buddha. In Kaziranga we were in Bonoshree lodge. In Cherrapunjee, it's Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort. Shillong accomm was not good at all. In Guwahati we were at friend's house.
