Sonepur
Does anyone know about the Sonepur Mela and what accommodation would be like in Patna at this time?

There are tourist 'tented accommodation' in Sonepur during the mela ranging in prices, I've heard they are good, but have not used them myself.

Thank you for this. Do you know if I could just show up and find a space in one of the tents? And do you also know how long the festival is on for. I've had a search on the internet but keep getting various dates.
Thanks again for your time. A |

There is a member of the thorn tree who has replied to your thread on that website, he was there last year and will be able to give you better info. I know what you mean about the lack of info available on the web, I wanted to go to the Mela this year so had searched a lot for info without much success. Things changed and I can't go this year, but I will definitly go next year and I'm hoping there will be more info on the web by then. Please let me know how you get on. |
