A Cruise on Brahmaputra river is def. worth going on.
If interested they may visit Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary for one horned rhino. I think it's around 50 kms from Guwahati. It's a small sanctuary with high density of rhinos. Ronak.

I am also planning a trip to Shillong. From the information I’ve gathered, following are some of the places of interest in and around Shillong:-
• Umiam Lake. A beautiful lake situated north of Shillong, it resembles the 'Lochs', or lakes of Scotland. • Don Bosco Museum of Indigenous North East Culture. Don Bosco Museum is an amazing repository of information on the entire North Eastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura. It is located within the precincts of the Sacred Heart Church, Mawlai. • Wards Lake. Wards Lake is an artificial lake surrounded by a f large garden with boating facilities are available in the lake. • Lady Hydari Park. The park has variety of local flowering plants and orchids. It also has a small zoo within it. It is a famous picnic spot for local population. • Sweet Falls. • Bishop & Beadon Falls • Elephant Falls. • Shillong Peak. Shillong Peak is the highest point in state of Meghalaya (1965 meters above sea level). From here you can get breathtaking view of Shillong city. • Butterfly Museum • Cherrapunjee (or Sohra as called locally) is around 60kms south of Shillong. • Mawsynram. It is 56kms from Shillong and is known for the Giant Stalagmite formation shaped into a "Shivalinga" and found inside a cave known locally as Mawjymbuin. It is also gets the heaviest rainfalls in world in recent years. • Jakrem, 64kms from Shillong, is a hot-spring of sulphur water, believed to have curative medicinal properties.
