Safety travel to Bodhgaya?
Hi to all & Namaste !
I am planning to arrive to Gaya (from Varanasi) by train at 9:40 PM. I have read that the road from Gaya to Bodhgaya it is dangerous at night. Is it truth? Any recommendations about this trip? best regards, Marcos |

You should choose another arrival time during day time. It is true, it is dangerous. Even locals will say that. The trip to Bodhgaya is about 10 km open land. Most likely bandits would be on the watch-out at the station, and then follow your car to an appropriate spot to take you out. I do not know about a good hotel in Gaya thru which you could arrange a pick-up to stay in Gaya overnight. The Gaya train station is fairly small.
Again, choose a different arrival time. It is generally not a good idea to arrive at any place in India at night, also because of difficulty of finding a hotel. Good luck. |
