pondicherry !

Hey,
i am planning to visit pondicherry so i wanted to knw the really good places which i must visit( preferable not the typical touristy locations -- places which the locals knw best and are realllly good would be a treat )
also has anybody stayed at the hotel- the mass.. if so, hw is it ?

Suggest you explore the big market, but hold your breath in the fish section.

Generally, I'd say that one visits Pondy because it is different; for the general ambiance, rather than for anything specific to see.

Also suggest you use the search box; there must be plenty of Pondy threads!

I find it helpful and am looking forward to 2 "different" days in Pondy 10 days from now.

i can check the site but its always better to knw the real deal frm those who have stayed there..

The fish market is a very small part of a huge covered market. It's worth a look!

Hotel... no sorry, don't know it.

Hi,
As you are saying about different than the normal tourist places I should tell you to stay also in a different place than the city hotels. Just b4 you enter pondychery take left turn to matri mandir, there you will get one resort to stay which is completely out of the city and near to the beach (only one I think).it seems there are tree houses available to stay in pondychery as well.
