Bodhgaya was the second stop on our Grand Trunk Road Trip. Posting photos here since I could not find a bihar forum and also because it is 5 hours from Varanasi

Hi Soumya,

thanks for the photos and the interesting report.
We are planing a similar trip from Lucknow to Gonda - Lumbini
- Kushinagar - Patna - Gaya - Varanasi.

We are looking for a car with driver for this trip. Do you know a
tour operator which is organizing such trips? We will arrive in Delhi at the 10. of february and start from Lucknow
at the 13. of february.

Hi

I will not be able to help with this since I drove my own car all the way.

However, you are on the right track in renting a car from Lucknow and not Delhi since that way you wont have to pay the exorbitant tourist taxi taxes while crossing the border into Uttar Pradesh. Also once in Varanasi you may want to give up the car after visiting Sarnath (you dont really need a car in Varanasi and the parking guys are always out to fleece you for overnight parking)

You may want to ask a question in the Uttar Pradesh forum to find a reliable car agency in lucknow.
