Guwahati-Shillong-Kaziranga-Cherapunji-Guwahati

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a travel plan??
Am planning to visit at the end of Feb.

for how many days? these are wonderful places.
given below a one week travel plan assuming you are reaching guwahati on a saturday

sunday - visit guwahati , umananda temple, kamakshya temple and basistha templae are must see, even if you are not religious person these temples are worthy visting for scenic beauty, you have to ride river boats to reach umamanada temple, you can vist shukracharya temple near to umananda temple, there is balaji temple near basistha temple

monday - start early morning and reach kaziranga (5/6 hrs by sumo, rs 4500) , see madan-kam-dev temple on the route , if you start very early then you can do the jeep safari of kaziranga central range in the afternoon, call your hotel earlier they will arrange for jeep, you dont have to waste time after reaching kaziranga

tuesday - do morning safari to eastern range and afternoon safari to western range, these two ranges are best for animal and bird spotting

wednesay - do a elephant safari at early morning, western range is better for rhino spotting . then after breakfast start for shillong, it takes 6/7 hrs, you may go to chera directly

thursday - visit places of cherapunji

friday - visit either mawlynong or mawsynram

saturay - visit places of shillong

sunday - start early morning from shillong to guwahati ( 3 hrs) and then guwahati to home

NB: in the stating saturday, if you reach guwahati early then go to shillong that very day and travel in reverse direction .

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.
We will be reaching Guwahati from Kolkata on a Suturday (8 am) and will be leaving Guwahati next Thurs (evening flight)..........so we will be having 6 days approx.
How do you propose that we alter the above schedule.

saturday - reach guwahati and go to kaziranga directly, if you have time do safari of central range
sunday- safari of eastern range and western range
monday - elephant safari at dawn and go to shillong
tuesday - visit cherra and comeback to shillong
wednesday - visit places in & around shillong
thursday - reach guwahati as early as possible , taxi starts from 6 am, after reaching guwahati book another car from there who will show you kamakshya and basistha (if time permits) and drop you at airport

Can anyone suggest a place to stay in Kaziranga and Shillong
