| Book them ahead, preferably through the hotel you are staying and they will be there. Hans

| are you asking how long before the train arrives that you should be at the station? or whether you can buy tickets at the station before it leaves? |

| I think the question is will I be able to get a taxi or autorickshaw in the middle of the night from Bodhgaya to Gaya. I'd go with Dhans's suggestion anywhere else; however that area is known to be dangerous at night because of banditry. Would a taxi be OK you think (probably safer than a rickshaw here)? Or is it wiser to arrive in Gaya by day, and maybe book a room or a railway retiring room for half a day?

Gaya is a rather small station, so you do not need to arrive too early. 15-20 minutes before train-departure is more than enough. If you give 30 minutes for travel time (actually less for the 10-12 kms), and some for the IST (Indian Stretchable Time ) of the taxi driver arrival at your hotel, the departure time of 4:15 would sound about right.Do not take Auto rickshaw, ask for a car, costs about the same. | |

| At that time of day (rather:night) there is hardly a safety problem. Robbers have to sleep too and do not know you are coming. It is more the early part of the night that has a certain degree of danger. |

| Member | Yes, as above suggestion, you can contact or book taxi in advance, it's about 200 IDR (tip : you can contact monastery, as every monastery has their driver or taxi that they called regulary and can trust...then they can help you to get trust and good taxi) |
