Bihar

Hi everybody!

I've been a bit concerned to read several references to how dangerous it is in Bihar at the moment. I'm planning on spending about 24 hours in the Dhanbad/Jharia area in late December ..... arriving by Rajdhani early one morning, and leaving by Rajdhani at the same time the following morning.

I felt uncomfortable some of the time when I was there a couple of years ago - but can't honestly say I ever felt in real danger (well, maybe when a 'holy man' backed me up against a tree with an elephant ). has the situation changed greatly? I'd be really pleased for some current advice, please!

Thumbs up Hi

Dhanbad is more or less same. Comparatively safe as compared to central / North Bihar. And as you are traveling by Rajdhani Exp it is OK. You are not going to spend a long time there. I’ll advice to take care the journey (from ?) to railway station in next early morning. If it is far away from station that means you need to start early so it would be better to have someone with you.

Thanks to you both, for that. Actually, my husband and I think it would now suit us better if we just visited Dhanbad and Sindri as a day trip from Cal.

I've checked train times and feel sure that we can do all we want to in the few hours available.
