@Sreeharshar
You could take the permit for the whole state or for bomdilla and tawang only.it can be available for 7 days to 1 month
need your Identity cards
and age proof
you can get it from Arunachal Bhaban ,saltlake ,kolkataor from Guahati or Tejpur
you should be present there any time during 10am -5 pmfrom sunday to friday.govt holidays the office will be close too.weather will be good
slightly cool in tawang and bomdilla.you may take a waterproof and wind cheater.Best of luck.

We are planning a trip to Tawang in May,2008. I contacted Arunachal Bhawan, Salt Lake, Kolkata for ILP. They said that I will have to come in person to collect the form, deposit the same with necessary documents and fees of Rs 15 per head. Thereafter, they shall be issuing the same after 2-3 days. As it is, getting leave these days is so difficult. They should make some arrangements for applying online/or through post. Otherwise one will have to waste 1-2 days in Guwahati getting an ILP made. No wonder going to Arunachal is so difficult.

Tawang trip !

Can anyone plan an itinerary for me for a trip to Dirang,Sila Pass,Tawang & Bhalukpong from Kolkata.I am really thrilled to see the photos and read the descriptions there.I have only 7 days leave for this trip.So plz help me.We are a group of 7 which includes mostly elderly people in the age group of 50-58 along with me and my husband in early 30's and a 2.5 year old baby.We would have to travel by train only from Kolkata.Also plz confirm about the normal temperature during late september and whether there is any chance of breathing problems for the elderly people and the child due to the chill.
Also, if the ILP is made from Arunachal Bhawan,salt lake, then will there be any other formalities or permits required for the trip?

Thanks a lot! But I have only 7 days in hand for this trip starting from Kolkata.Will I be able to spend one day each in Dirang, Tawang and Bhalukpong? Will it be feasible as we need time to reach there and return back to Kolkata within 7 days.

Also, let me know how practical it would be to have elders & a small child as mentioned earlier for such a trip to a chilled place? Will it have any effect on breathing?

Request someone to reply on the rest of the points mentioned by me.

7 days for Arunachal ?! very difficult. why don't you try Shillong ? 11 days are the bare minimum requirement for Arunachal. otherwise it will be too hectic. also, you may not be able to see all the places there. Shillong + Chera + Mausinram + Dowki is very much doable.

snow in late sep - are you sure you'll get it ? snow might be available at sela pass only, but i have a serious doubt about that also. check it with arunachal tourism office at salt lake.
