arunachal or meghalaya from assam??

Hello
I plan on going to Guwahati next summer (I know I know..monsoon..oh well). Do you recommend going from
Guwahati to Shillong
OR
Guwahati to Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh)
OR
Guwahati to Ziro in time for the Dree Festival of the Apatani tribe?? Is that something worth looking at??

Which of these would work out the best and is there any possible way that any 2 of the 3 options can work out in like 8 days?
Thanks!!
Rahul
I understand that not many people go to Arunachal or Northeast at all and there isnt any information ive found about this stuff from people that actually went there, Ive just read about it on tour group sites. any amount of help will be greatly appreciated!

forget tawang. that's not a big tour party with older relatives kind of a place.

gauhati to shillong ois on the tested tour circuit...

I haven't been to the dree festival.

so I guess i would suggest you pick between the second and the third options.

It's a four hour drive up to shillong which you can extend to six or seven by stopping off on the way(shillong is up in the hills.) beautiful drive.

in shillong itself there's a couple of gret golf courses, waterfalls, the shillong peak, and the bhutanese market.

cherapunjee is about a hundered miles from shillong.

Is Cherapunjee okay to see in the monsoon season (considering it is the "wettest place" or actually it was taken over by mawsynram but whatever) or there alot of landlides, etc?
