Visit Paradip
Paradip is a major port of the country. It has reasonable amount of shipping related activities. The township is reasonably developed with good roads; beautiful gardens and good hotels. The fishing harbour is worth visiting. The sea wall with breakers hitting the wall day and night is a source of joy and a feast to the eyes. Artists would find enough opportunities to use their skill on the canvas. The most sought after place is the point where the mighty Mahanadi River joins the sea. This place is fabulous. The port town is well connected to BHUBANESWAR and CUTTACK.

Jitamanyu, good to hear. I was hoping for this sort of news last December, when I was about to visit Langundi, Lalitgiri, Ratnigiri and was thinking about checking out the coast at the same time. I must say that when I did visit these Buddhist sites I was impressed by the highway heading to Paradip. The well developed infrastructure in this part of Orissa did take me by surpise, because everything I'd read on the internet about the districts in question had mentioned anti-SEZ protests.

Paradeep is indeed a lovely port city which has still not lost its innocence.
Besides the fabulous spot where Mahanadi meets Bay OF Bengal, a visit to the port is also quite an interesting experience (though I am not sure how one can manage the required permissions). In Jagatsinghpur town, which is en route when driving Cuttack to Paradeep, one must smaple this delicious Oriya sweet (I can't recollect its name) which is like small Gulabjamuns dipped in milk. Delicious. Also, don't forget to try dalam (another Oriya dish)! Cheers |

Visit Paradip
I have two narrations relating to Paradip which may be seen in my Blog http://jitamanyuspeaks.blogspot.com/.
As regards the sweets, RASABALI is a delicious sweet preparation which can be available in good shops; though this sweet preparation along with JHILLI can be looked for at NIMAPARA on way to KONARKA from BHUBANESWAR. I am sure there would be no restriction in visiting the confluence point of the MAHANADI. |

Visit Paradip
Recently a ship sank off the Port shortly after loading a consignment of iron ore. Today a photograph of the sinking ship just before disappearing into the depth of the sea was in a newspaper. Can we,in Indiamike, have photographs of the sinking ship from some who have such photographs.
As regards Rasabali, I agree that Kendrapara would have of Rasabali of good quality. Rasabalis of very good quality are available at a few places in Bhubaneswar as well. |
