Jagannath Puri Temple

Puri, on the east coast of India, in the state of Orissa is a hoary pilgrimage center, enshrining Jagannath, in a colossal temple. Puri is well connected by rail and road with Calcutta and with Bhubaneshwar. Puri is an ancient shrine, enshrining Krishna - Jagannath in the form of a wooden image.

Hoary is right. It's an ancient pilgrimage centre.

Smile I'm the JUGGERNAUT, b*tch!

Hi evrybody,

Please take a look at my visual response to this post! This drawing of a ficticious comic book cover about the bastardization of Jagannath into the English word Juggernaut, with a different spin on its wheels.

Feel free to share your comments and responses to this image!

The town of puri is bustling with the rituals of Lord Jagannath.
Few days after He will take a long bath in full moon.Sleep for 15 days and then will start a CRAZY CROWD CAR CARNIVAL known as RATH YATRA or Car festival. on 16th July.

Rajiv,

The comic cover ain't funny at all, in fact, on the contrary, it is absolutely profane depiction of Lord Jaganath and doesn't appeal to the religious sensibility at all. Did you paint it to be a satire of some sort on the modern era??

Normally, I do not discuss religion. But I got to say that the poster is not palatable. Jagannath of Puri is a lovable icon is not as apocalyptical as you potray.
