Rourkela- what to see/do?

What to do or see in Rourkela?
Any suggestions?

I spent 5 years in Rourkela as a student in engineering school (1976-81).

There is nothing to do there. Things may have changed in the last 25 years though, however, I doubt it. Summers are very hot and miserable.

nothing much to do. I spent close to 2 months continuously there.
There is a big temple I think Hanumanvatika with a huge Hanuman Idol.

Other thing hmmm.... there are small rivers here and there and some beaches along these rivers. More of the picnic spots.
