Rath Yatra festival in Puri

Once more on the rath yatra...can anyone suggest the best way for some foreigners to view the festivities? Rooftop viewing? experiencing it in the crowd (probably not the best for a woman)? Where along the chariot route is best...too much to think about. i guess i should just go and be eh?

there will be more than 4 lakh indianwomen and hundreds of forgiener women in this festival.So relax..u r not alone.
staring..body touch..smell..dirt..cultural shock..wil be there..get preapred for it.The best way to feel safe is join a female group of indian devotees to meltway your worries of being
woman.

If you go down to CT Road, where there are a lot of hotels serving foreigners, there's well-prepared tuna with chips or mashed potatoes -- a nice treat when you've had too many chapattis.
