I have planned to stay in bhubaneshwar and visit konark and puri on the 25th and stay in puri and on 26th visit chilka lake and come back to puri. will this be ok. suggest some budget accomdn at chilka lake , puri and at bhubaneshwar. Is it better to stay at bhubaneshwar or at puri? How far is it from puri to chilka lake? Do we require any travel agent to go about this plan? what are the places that i can cover in 2 days? thanks in advance narayan Moderator Note: Please do not post the same thing more than once. I just answered a similar question on another thread and repeat a part of it.
I think you don't need an travel agent but a car makes it a lot easier. From Bhubaneswhar take the luggage with you in the taxi to Konark. After visiting the temple you can go directly to Puri. We stayed at two places around Chilka lake, both owned by the Orissa tourist organization. One is in Satapada on the ocean side of the lake, just an hour from Puri. Barkul, on the other side of the lake was 2-3 hours. We visited this region in Feb. 2007 and stayed one night in Panthanivas in Barkul and two in Satapada. As far as I remember it were fine hotels. For the birds we were to late so I guess your timing is better. But in Satapada we saw dolphins. We did this as part of an organized tour with a driver. From Barkul we drove by a wonderful country road around the north side of the lake to Puri. From there it is not far to Konark. For more details see our travel diary. |
