Jan '10 Orissa Itinerary help I am planning a trip to Bhuvaneswar-Puri-Chilka Lake and would like IMer's to help me. Jan 10 Arrive 10 am from Bangalore. Rent Taxi drive to Konark via Yogini temple, then on to Puri, stay overnight. Jan 11 Full day in Puri, sightseeing and relaxing Jan 12 Drive to Chilka Lake, do a boat ride, hoping to see the dolphins and the birds, then drive back to Bhuvaneswar. Stay overnight. Jan 13 Sightseeing in and around Bhuvaneswar Jan 14 Fly back to Bangalore My question is: will I have enough time to do the sightseeing in Puri on the first day and drive to Chilka the next day, so that I can cut my trip short by one day? Is there enough to do in Puri if I am there one full day? Is the trip to Chilka Lake a full day trip? I wanted to book with Mayfair Hotels but they are full at that time, so I am thinking Hotel Hans Coco Palms. Any reviews on this hotel? I would like to be close to the beach and be comfortable with AC etc.

Stayed in Hans Coco palms Hotel in Puri six years ago and was very good. Clean and beautiful garden with swimming pool, almost private beach and good restaurants. Don't remember how huch I've paid for the room. Jorge

Hi, On the first day after reacing puri you can go to the beach in the evening and relax there. Next day early morning go to Sri Jagannath temple and other temples at Puri and start for Chilika. You can reach bhubaneswar at around 9-9.30pm after chilika trip. For this you need to book a taxi. Without taxi its not possible to cover both puri and chilika in one day. While coming back to bhubaneswar you can do some shopping at Pipili, famous for applique works. At bhubaneswar visit Nandankanan, Khandagiri and Udayagiri Caves, Dhauli giri, Rajarani temple, Mukteswar temple and the Lingaraj temple. Yes Coco palms is a good hotel. Regards, Sidhartha
