Help Needed For Puri/konark/chilka

BBSR. to PURI is 65km.

PURI to KONARK is 35km.

Taxi BBSR to PURI approx Rs.600 time aprox. 1 1/2 hrs approx

Taxi BBSR Airport to PURI Rs.600 time approx. 1 1/2 hrs appox.

Auto's around BBSR. shared autos avail / private autos.

Buses to Puri Rs.50 1 1/2 hrs approx. opp.

Buses to Konark very frequent approx 1hr. (35km ) very crowded.

Taxi incl. waiting time Rs.600

Entry to Konark for foreigners Rs.250 Indians Rs.10

Cycle hire in CT. Road Rs.15 per day

M/cycle Hire Rs. 200 t0 250 per day

Mopeds Rs.150 per day the best way to travel to enjoy countryside / beaches.

In answer to the question is it safe to travel to PURI at 9pm.? It is perfectly safe to do so.

Arun, its good to take the bus or taxi from bhubaneswar to puri next day early morning. in puri everything get closed by 9.30 or 10.00 pm night. so bettr move in morning

Hi All,

Thanks for your suggestions. Sorry for late reply as I was not well. I made my itinerary as below:

26th sept: taking kingfisher evening flight from Delhi for BBS(N/S at panthiniwas booking already done.

27th; will take Innova/Sumo and visit nandankanan and local sight seen in BBS(As we are 8)

28th; same cab will take us for local sight seen and after that we will proceed to puri after lunch. Visit Shri Jaganath Ji same evening and Night stay at BNR Chanakya hotel(booking done)

29th: same cab will take us to satpada and after visiting Chilka lake we will come back to puri. we will leave our cab on 29th.

Please suggest me any person who provide us Innova in BBs for 3 days .

30th: Puri> konark> puri( take local taxi)

1st oct: Morning train from Puri for delhi(booking done)

I need suggestion and help regarding cab.

Hi Sumistha,

Bhubaneswar Panthaniwas is a good option. In bhubaneswar you can include Nandankanan, Khandagiri & Udayagiri caves,Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple, Kedar Gouri temple, Mukteswar Temple.

While going to puri you can go to Dhauli. its on the way to puri and about 12 km from Panthaniwas. Also you can visit pipili on the way to puri, which is famos for its applique works.

Regarding cab, you can easily get one at bhubaneswar. The rate is around Rs 9-10 per km plus halting charges for a/c Innova.
