Hi Bhaswaran,
Your advice was excellent. I feel it's such a pity that most people have not even heard of Bhitarkanika which is much more exciting than Similipal Natl. Pk. There's a great train journey from BBSR to Koraput and onwards to Andhra Pradesh. Terrific scenery, and some interesting stopovers en route. I am fortunate to have a motor bike based in Puri, so am able to explore. If you pardon the pun 'where the hand of man has never set foot!'
I have now visted Puri for the last 17 years and can tell a few stories of the temples and pandas. In answer to vpsingh..the answer is YES to A and B. But,it remains a great place to soak up the three different characters that is Puri. The Grand road ( Jagannath Temple)this represents real India. The crowds of pilgrims from rural villages. The Golden Sands, known locally as Bengali beach. Indian tourist mainly from WB. having a good time. Lastly, the Chakhratthita Road, known simply as CT rd. ( Cheating Tourist rd! )Here you will find the foreign tourist and the many restaurants that cater for them. All in all, its a good mix. It's much quieter. Well it seems you have been good advice all round, all that remains is to
ENJOY

Yes very much...Bhittarkanika is excellent as well as Koraput for all it scenary. One can start for the Koraput region from Bhubaneshwar (direct train) and come back to Vishakhapatnam from Koraput via Araku Valley on the KK Passenger. These two train journeys are extremely rewarding.

Hi Hi Bhaswaran,

I am too interested to take the itenary as you have listed to vpsingh. But will it possible for you to give approx car hire costs between the various points - like from B'war to Puri and then to Chilika and then to Berhampur?

Though I am not sure about the car hire cost, they may range between Rs. 1200-1500 per day. I am going to Puri next month and will give you a fair picture after then.
