Reminds me of that Zappa classic, "Honey, Don't You Want A Man Like Me?"

Quote:
... Later on they went off to where the music was soft,
The candles were drippy, they saw a REAL HIPPY
Who delivered their dinner

The rice was brown, and soon they found
That the crowd around that had jammed the room,
Well it seemed to be getting thinner...

I'm too late.

I was going to say, "We don't know; we're scared of Hippies"!

I said it first

Maybe we should combine this thread with hedkandi's other, and make it one about hippies learing kama sutra.

Many visitors enjoy wearing the beautiful and colourful clothing that can be bought cheaply in the bazaars. Have heard that some well-off Indians are surprised that foreigners would wish to dress like very poor country people.

India is one of the few places where visitors can return to childhood without being ridiculed. In many western countries most people can afford only readymade clothing. It's rather fun to visit an Indian tailor and have clothing quickly made to measure.

Sometimes people who "dress up" in 1960's fashion are called hippies. I think it all harmless fun and quite entertaining.
