Western Tamil Nadu and East Kerala
I was wondering if anyone out there is familiar with the mountainous region of Tamil Nadu, Nilgiri Hill region and Annamalai Reserve. My buddy and me will be going through southern India in March, and I would love the opportunity to see more of those awesome rocky mountians in Tamil Nadu. After Tamil Nadu comes Kerala, so any thoughts on the Periyar area?

Roscoe, Welcome to IM
![]() What is the question? are you looking for connections, location, routes etc. Mostly this is the border area of the two states. The road network is ok with bus services. The route as well as the destination are very nice in most of this area. So travel in the daytime to enjoy the seen. Go early to the bus station and catch the window seat. Usually the buses are crowded with the village people. |

periar area
Periar area or Thekkady are really good. If you can afford stay in one of the hotels that are inside the santuary. You can do trekking inside the forest even in the night!!
Public transportation is really good. You will surely enjoy. |
