Vautha Fair

I'm trying to get some information about the Vautha Fair, which is scheduled this year to end on Nov. 3, 2009. I've posted in the Gujarat Forum, but nary a nibble of information.

I cannot leave Mumbai before the morning of Nov. 2, so if I take a train I can get in to Ahmedabad Junction on the Gujarat Shatabdi Express at about 1:30pm, then need to get to Vautha. That means I will pretty much miss all but the last day. Would it be worth it for basically a day and a half?

Then there's the question of accommodations. Does it much have to be Ahmedabad for something aircon?
