Trip to Kalpa

Hi, I'm Tanima from Gurgaon. Me and my husband are planning a trip from Shimla to Kalpa. We intend to start from Shimla on
13th Aug. We want to cover Kaza - Tabo - Manali as well but only if time and health permits. If not then till Kalpa for this time. We were first thinking of taking the local bus but got to know that even taxis operate on sharing basis. We will appreciate if we can get some info on shared cabs. Also do let me know if anyone is interested in Shimla-Kalpa trip around 13th Aug.

Hi Vikas, thank you so much for the info.
As 13th Aug is round the corner, we are still trying to figure out how to arrange for a shared cab. We have made calls to 3-5 taxi stands in Shimla but are been told that no cab goes till Kalpa, which is so wrong. The guys out there are simply not ready to give right information. Do you have any idea on the same?

I haven't traveled to the place, but I searched around a bit and found that cabs are certainly available from Simla to Kalpa. Be aware that Simla-Kalpa is a almost 250 kms and will take over 10-11 hrs to travel. Direct buses are also available from Simla-Rekong Peo, which is about 14 kms from Kalpa.

That's true, it does take those many hrs. to reach Kalpa. We are prepared for it anyway. I think the best thing would be to have a one to one talk with the cab drivers once we reach Shimla. Isn't it?

Yeah I guess so... once there it would be easier to evaluate all available options choose the best one.
