Coorg has many beautiful options. You probably know of Orange County already. In addition to that there are dozens of coffee plantations with guest bungalows and rooms.

I used to stay at the Pompeii Valley Resort- a plantation with a handful of bungalows. Friendly family. Great Coorgi food. And, just 10 minutes below Madikeri on the West side. Just ask at the chicken shop just off the circle that leads to Telecauvery, as it is owned by the same guy and has some photos in the window.

Otherwise, search a little more on this site, as I know people have discussed this many times before.

Don't miss the sunset from Raja's Seat- but don't watch it from the busy park- walk to the right a couple hundred meters and enjoy the serenity.

You can find lot of home stays in Madikkeri,Kushal Nagar
We travelled on April this year..
If you have your own vehicle/rent a car all the places are near by
In kushaal nagar lot of better hotels compared to madikkeri i guess.. but both places are near by only...
Search for cheap deals in makemytrip.com.. we booked through that...
