The Secret Beach

I spent many winters on Palolem beach.
Back in the early 90's it was a very special place.
I switched to Patnem when it got too busy for me.
Now I'm looking for somewhere new again.
Somewhere with not too many people.
A little bit of paradise
Perhaps somewhere that isn't too easy to get to, as that dissuades the majority of people.
Of course I know that the "secret beach" will go the way of all the others but that's just in the nature of things.
Development is inevitable, it brings good and bad.
Most people like a beach with good transport links and tourist shops.
Me, I like a quiet one surrounded by nature where I can rent a room from a villager.
All I need is somewhere to eat and drink and a few like-minded souls.
It's out there. I've glimpsed it before.
Come on crazy man. Pin the map to my door.

I think Diu might be just what you're looking for. I've never been there but from what I've read, it's quite peaceful and has some great beaches.

Purchase a motor bike and drive down the coast searching every unknown road you come across. The beach you seek is of course "out there", but it will not be mentioned in public. Have fun!

I HAVE HEARD IT SAID THAT DIU GETS INUNDATED WITH GUJERATI DRUNKS EVERY WEEKEND. cAN ANYBODY CONFIRM THIS?
Also the beaches around Gokarna sound quite inviting ..Personally i don´t like the sea water anywhere in Goa as its not possible to see more than a foot or two into it.
As a consequene i doubt i shall return to Goa in the forseeable future. Martinez

Yes. It's also very nice, but hardly undiscovered, although relatively quiet, if it still is. (Gujarat is "dry" [no alcohol], while Diu is not, hence those weekend bingers.)

They might get crowded arnd Dec- Feb and esp on weekends and hindu religious days (lots of pilgrims for the temples in the town who then decide to visit the beaches also)

Half-Moon and Paradise at Gokarna (have I got the right ones?) are far from secret but they are harder to get to than most and so remain fairly quiet, the day trippers tend not to bother with them but you will find shelter and food.
