Solo Motorbike Expedition to Chanshal-Dodra-Kwar.
Hi,
A road less travelled & tough to negotiate, blind curves, soaring mountains, bewitching spell of Pabbar valley, Apple orchards, few innocent faces on the way, thin air & splendid beauty of Dodra-Kwar. All is about my solo motorbike expedition'' Chanshal-Dodra-Kwar (CDK). The area was landlocked earlier & has been connected through road couple of month back. People used to trek 45 Kms to visit nearest market Rohru. Time Period: 18th & 19th July 2009. Bike: CBZ Xtreme 150CC Route: CHANDIGARH>SHIMLA>THEOG>KOTKHA I>KHADAPATHAR>HATKOTI>ROHRU>CH IRGAON>LAROT>CHANSHAL PASS>DODRA>KWAR. Night Stay: Forest Rest House at Dodra.

Hi
Planning a trip to Chanshal/Dodra Kwar in 2nd week of October. Planning to take my Maruti Esteem. Is it possible to do on this road if weather holds good ? Also what is the distance of Chanshal and Dodra from Rohru in kms. Is the road good enough for entire stretch ? As mentioned in the post planning to stay in rest house at Dodra. |

Ground clearance of Esteem may cause problem, since the road from Larot to Dodra is Jeepable only.
Rohru>Chanshal>Dodra-65 Kms. You can get in touch with Mr.Tulsi Ram (Forest Ranger)09418708594for Rest house booking. |

Great short trip. That' what it looks like to me Ajay (Himalayanone). I've been visiting the area close to Dodra-Kwar for many years now (Uttarakhand) and am quite familiar with the culture and people there. Would love to try out that new road i heard about ( ur right! the trek from UA-Naitwar takes almost 40 odd kms and two days but thats another beauty to do the trek too). Do you have a trip-log? or logistic info?
