Raigad Pictures: Beautiful Fort !

Hi Friends,
Pictures from the beautiful and historic grand old Raigad fort. We trekked and roughed it up this summer.

About Raigad fort:

Raigad Fort has a historical significance in India and Maharashtra. Also known as capital of Swarajya(Freedom), this fort was the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, one of the great heros of India.

nice pics...but this fort (or may I say all the forts in Sahyadri range) look very scenic during monsoon .

Am planning to drive down to the Raigad fort from Mumbai ..
2 Qns
1. any pointers on driving directions
2. Can I drive to Raigad Fort and be back to Mumbai in a day ?

Hi Rvgandhi,
Take the mumbai-goa highway and before mahad there is a prominent sign on the highway on left denoting way to raigad. 22 kms inside you reach foothills of raigad

Yes you can easily manage in a day !
