posting parcels home...

hello,
just wondering if anyone has used the indian postal service to post parcels (in this case they would be going to australia and canada), and whether they had any problems. also an indication of costs would be very helpful! thanks. x

100g Sample & Small Packet Air Mail Registered Rs.65
200g Sample & Small Packet Air Mail Registered Rs.102
400g Sample & Small Packet Air Mail Registered Rs.171
800g Sample & Small Packet Air Mail Registered Rs.295
1000g Sample & Small Packet Air Mail Registered Rs.335
1200g Sample & Small Packet Air Mail Registered Rs.420

Takes about 7 days, but can take up to 20 days!

It is pretty reliable.

If you want prices for heavier parcels (up to 20kg) please PM me and I'll let you know in a couple of days, when I have recovered from jet-lag!

All the best,

John

I´ve had many orders placed with my Indian bookstore - they always arrive 7-8 days after I send the order. No problems with the packages I´ve sent myself from India (I`m waiting for a parcel just now)

We just received a 23kg parcel from Ooty - delivered to via Coimbatore and Bombay to Yorkshire UK.

The parcel was collected by TNT www.tnt.com on Saturday and arrived here 3 days later!

Is this a record?

It also took over a month to have the parcel packed and then collected by TNT.

Is this a record?

3 weeks, no way! I send about 100 parcels to UK every week and they take 6 - 8 days, just the odd one goes astray and then arrives 4 weeks later!

Worth paying the extra rs15 for registered airmail, it doesn't guarantee a thing but they seem to take more care over it!

Cheers
