Please take food with you! Trying to capture your own dinner is a real chore, and can also be rather risky! Check out the book 'Into the Wild' by Jon Krakaur before you go!
Anyway, good luck and I hope you find a good spot!

Perhaps you'd better read the book & watch the movie "Into the Wild" again. He did most everything wrong & he died (starved to death).
Rob the Pom is correct in suggesting you bring enough food for your adventure. If you are a person without any experience in extreme survival techniques, you may want to do some short practice in this, maybe a week somewhere remote, to see how it all works. Also, "all natural stuff from trees" can make you sick if you don't know what is safe. Like the wrong mushroom can kill you quite fast!
If you are knowledgeable about all these things, ignore my warnings & have a fine time!

Not a bad idea, if you're very well prepared for this adventure. Get off the train at Tanakpur and head north in Uttaranchal. I guess, you could camp anywhere on the banks of Sarda river. There are villages nearby; I remembered this because Jim Corbett camped here and he caught lots of Seer Fish. Once you catch the fish you're in business: Fish curry, Fish tikka masala, Fish fry, Fish vindaloo, Fish tandoori, Fish seek kabob, Fish souffle, Fish croquettes etc., The possibilities are limitless.
You'll have so much fun picnicking, you may not want to come back. Now, all this fish talk got me hungry
By the way, Jim was looking for a Leopard.

Really? Didn't know that. He was also a part of that 'Into Thin Air' expedition which turned into such a disaster.

Ok, it's clear that you know nothing about the mountains or camping, never mind living in the wild. It appears that you're trying to "find" yourself - there are less rigorous and dangerous ways of doing so, until you get some experience. Specially if you're scared of wild animals (who wudn't be, unarmed?)
Pick an out of the way little village, find a nice home-stay, people will be few and friendly, food will be basic but probably delicious, nobody will bother you, take along all the books you want to read, you might find that total solitude is over-rated after a short while.

Chhitkul in HP comes to mind. Here's a thread that you may find useful:

The AUTHOR Jon Krakauer didn't die, the subject of the book he wrote, Christopher McCandless is the one who died from starvation!!
Yes, Krakauer was on Everest in a different expedition during that dreadful time when all those people died on Everest, however, he was not in the actual expedition that had the major catastrophe but he was able to help. I read the book a long time ago & don't recall the details.

Sorry, I couldnt make this trip last year due to the problems in getting Inner Line Permit from ITBP.
Anyways, let me reveal the location which i had in mind. There is this lake called Vasundhara Tal after Niti village in Garhwal at a height of about 4500m. The only people visiting this place might be the mountaineers going to summit of Mt. Kamet.
If you want to go to any such plane now in winters, then there are many oppurtunities, like head to the triundh near McLeodGanj. There would be not a single human being there.
