Karnataka.
I found this: http://www.coastalkarnataka.com/pac_1234.htm Looks interesting........I've never seen a tour like this before...along with the Island of the Pepper Queen, you're also taken to: "Bubbling Pond: At the foot of the Western Ghats, there is a small pond that repsonds to sound. Everytime you make a sound such as clapping, the pond starts bubbling." I'd like to check out a pond like this! How miraculous! |

Interesting indeed! The only other thing I found was this, http://www.book-a-tour.com/ , look for pepper queen (no quotation marks) using their search box.
That pond must be something yes! You reckon there's some Indian youngsters with straws below the water? ![]() Just a shame they don't seem to mention any prices, it looks quite good really. *If the island has a local name, might produce more search results. Maybe look for Queen Channa Bhairavi Devi. |

Could this be the same place?
Rolling mountains & Amazing Beaches - Available only at Karwar (by lonelyaztec) I done a very quick search yesterday for pepper queen island, and got the impression it was off Karwar.

No I don't think so Steven, I think it's a bit further south here's a link Basadi Island
It seems you leave from kundapur, which is around 165 km from Karwar!! 6335 NAGERCOIL EXP *KARWAR 10:07 KUNDAPURA 13:14 This whole area sounds rather interesting kundapura This train can be caught from Goa and various other places! I can tell you where the bubbling pond is in Goa if you like!! ![]() |

that website is horrbily misleading ( intentionally perhaps). It is not an Island in the first place. From Gerusoppa, the Basadi ruins are just across Sharavathi river. They are jain ruins in beautful green sorroundings. The spice queen's fort is futher up in the mountains. The path passes thro' some fantastic western ghat forests. I remember it was about 4 hrs trek |

Is it the St. Marry's Island, off Malpe beach near Udupi (Karnataka state) ?
It's believed that Vasco Da Gama landed in one of these tiny islands. If you are refering to this islant clusters, there are boat services from the Malpe beach. |

1, St. Mary Island. 2, Coconut Island. 3, Northernmost Island recommended. I must have read something about these places a few years ago, probibly on this website and written by a regular here. |
