Jayanti Vs Rasik bill
Hi!
I am self professed Dooars Lover. I'm sorry your mail did not come to my notice. I would have surely replied. Anyhow, Jayanti will beat Rasik Bill hands down. So, your decesion is ok. But which "Resort" u have booked at Jayaniti? As far as my knowledge goes, there is no "Resorts" in Jayanti. Amongst the private accommodation, the best is CESC Holiday Home(ABAKAS)and others are more of "home-stay" type. The best accommodation (location-wise and facility-wise) is of PHE Bunglow. I would like to recommend 3 days at Jayanit and atleast 1 day at Rasik Bill. Incidentally, if u go to Rasik Bill from Jayanti, you must insist taking a different route (not via Alipur Duars). The route is awsome..I had travelled by that route...it takes about 3/4 hours. This, of course, subject to your having adequate time at your disposal. Enjoy your trip. Bye! |

Thank You Ashish. I would surely like to hear more from you
. This plan of Dooars was on my cards for quite long time now, but something or other i was just not able to make it. Coming back to the point, I've booked this place known as 'Jayanti - Bala' for 2 nights and i'm not very sure whether its a resort or a hotel! Didn't get it at CESC one(abakash), so went for this.. My plan is like 2 nights in Rajabhatkhawa, 2 nights in Jayanti, and 2 nights in Buxa Duar. So i don't think we can make it to rashikbill. Maybe some other time. Please let me know which all places can we touch and the must dos there. Any other suggestion is also welcome. Thank You.

Dooars
Now that u have booked accommodation and must have finalised the programme also. It is of no use of offering any alternative suggestion now. However, I suggest u may visit "Rai Matang" from Jayanti. From Buxa, I had visited a place (I forgot the name), which has close resemblens with Sundarban. Those days boating arrangement is also available there. It is really a great fun to roam about in country boat. I suppose u will be staying at WBFDC Bunglow at Buxa - I think the staff over there would surely help u to visit this place. It is close to Buxa. From Buxa, if time permits, u can take a cab and visit Coach Behar Palace, Rash Mancha etc. I met one couple at Coach Behar, who came from Buxa by car and had returned back same day evening. U can trek to Mahakal Cave from Jayanti. Visit Pookhri, Santhalbari, take night safari in the forest of Jayanti etc. etc. Roam aimlessly on the dry river bed of Jayanti!
As far as my knowledge goes, "Jayanti Bala" is a kind of home stays. I was told that the owner takes lot of care. Wish u a great journey. IM is likely get a detailed write up from u, I'm sure!! |
